RUGER 10/22 SCOPE – Nikon ProStaff Rimfire 3-9 x 40 Black Matte Riflescope (BDC 150)

I had originally specified a LEUPOLD EER RIMFIRE SCOPE for the RUGER 10/22 Tack Driver Project but being a bit on the the pricey side funding for other projects kept the funding for the 10/22 LEUPOLD SCOPE from being realized. As luck would have it NIKON has recognized that there is a huge market for quality RIMFIRE SCOPES at a reasonable price. To that end I decided to give the Nikon ProStaff Rimfire 3-9 x 40 Black Matte Riflescope (BDC 150) a chance.

WARNE MAXIMA QUICK DETACH SCOPE RINGS

I went with the WARNE MAXIMA QUICK DETACH SCOPE RINGS based on a recommendation from a friend and fellow  RUGER 10/22 nut. Scope rings are one of those things that is very difficult t to judge quality on based upon a few internet pictures. It isn’t until you have a set of WARNE MAXIMA SCOPE RINGS in your hand do you appreciate the precision, quality and workmanship that goes into these scope rings.

GEMTECH SILENCER SUBSONIC .22LR AMMUNITION

From the manufacturer:

After years of recommending various brands and types of ammunition, we decided to do things right and create our own optimized round for suppressor useage. Putting together a heavier bullet, a cleaner powder, a premium lube on the lead round nose projectile gave us consistent velocities and harder hitting performance at subsonic, suppressor-friendly speed. The 42 grain lead round nose bullet is heavier than traditionally available rounds, but isn’t so heavy as to cause instability. A designed velocity of 1020 feet per second ensures the heavier projectile remains subsonic speed in most all firearms without resorting to anemic velocities

Sold in bricks of 500 or 5,000 round cases, the GEMTECH SILENCER SUBSONIC .22lr ammunition is subpackaged in 50 rd tray boxes to keep bullet noses from any accuracy-robbing damage during transit.

RUGER 10/22 FACTORY 25 ROUND 10/22 MAGAZINE

Nobody will ever accuse Ruger of moving quickly. It’s only taken 47 years for Ruger to introduce a 10/22 magazine that held more than 10 rounds. Today RUGER announced the BX-25, a Ruger designed 25 round magazine. I look forward to testing one of these magazines once they become available.

It’s refreshing to see the once most anti gun firearms manufacturer has finally embraced ALL FIREARMS including the ones Bill Ruger SR  despised such as AR-15’s, 1911’s and of course magazines over 10 rounds.

HARRIS BIPOD HBRMS Showed Up Today

I ordered the HARRIS BIPOD HBRMS 6″-9″ on Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday. You cant beat that for service. I also ordered the #6 sling stud adapter at the the same time I placed the bipod order. This adapter allows you to install the sling stud in the Bell&Carlson stock T-Slot channel.

I has one reservation going in and that was whether or not the 6″-9″ was the correct working range for the bipod. I can now say it was in fact the correct choice. Ill get some pictures this weekend of the 10 22 with the bipod in place.

Today my BELL & CARLSON ODYSSEY STOCK FOR RUGER 10/22 showed up at the office. I was very pleased as the stock is much nicer in person than internet pictures would lead you to believe.

A few test fits with the CLARK CUSTOM RUGER 10/22 BARRELED ACTION revealed that some minor fitting of the stock will be required. There’s some stock material interfering with the barrel clamp and the barrel is touching the stock near the end. No big deal.
