The Aklys Defense ZK-22 10/22 Bullpup Stock Kit allows a Ruger 10/22 to be converted to a bullpup that somewhat resembles an FN PS90. (The High Tower Armory 90/22 10/22 stock is more accurate in appearance.) To avoid a court or jail time the ZK-22 stock requires a barrel that’s at least 18.5″ in length.
The FN PS90 is illegal in my home state so I won’t be buying and reviewing a ZK-22 any time soon. For what it’s worth I can’t even buy a Ruger Charger .22 pistol here. I encourage visitor feedback on the ZK-22 and the HTA 90/22. You might also be interested in viewing more stock options here.

Powder River Precision started from the ground up on this project. Every component is manufactured specially for Powder River Precision and to their specs. They use the best materials and process for each parts application. The Hammer, Sear, and Disconnector are Wire EDM machined out of hardened Stainless Steel. The housing is Molded with Glass Filled Polymer. All of the other machined components are made from Stainless Steel. The auto release Bolt Lock and The Ejector both have a spare Extractor incorporated into them. You can always use one to upgrade your extractor and use the other one as a spare.
The Ruger 10/22 Tactical 21144 not to be confused with earlier version of the 10/22 tactical is Rugers attempt at offering a rifle that looks like an AR-22 but is a 10/22 at heart. That should equate to accurate and reliable but time will tell. From an appearance perspective I go from thinking it’s butt ugly to thinking it’s cool and I want one. It’s also interesting to note the rifle as it appears on the Ruger website does not look exactly like the model that’s for sale despite the same part number. In this case I trust Brownells picture that I have used for this post.

The Slide Fire 1022 Buttttock SSAR-22 utilizes the same groundbreaking design and technology as the SSAR-15 line of stocks, offering the same level of performance, reliability, and superior craftsmanship for the classic 10/22 rifle. The SSAR-22 allows the shooter to safely bump fire their 10/22 rifle from the shoulder, effectively and legally simulating fully automatic fire, and allowing for an unprecedented measure of control that is severely lacking when attempting to bump fire a rifle in the traditional, “from-the-hip” manner.
The SSAR-22 features a shelf that positions the shooter’s index finger in a fixed position in front of the rifle’s trigger. To fire, the rifle is moved forward with the support hand pushing on the forend, thereby bringing the trigger to the shooter’s finger and discharging a round. The rifle’s recoil causes it to move rearward, allowing the trigger mechanism to reset. When the right amount of constant forward pressure is applied, the rifle will continue to fire as the trigger is brought forward and depressed by the shooter’s stationary index finger, causing the gun to Bump Fire. Only 4-6 lbs. of force is required, allowing shooters of any stature to enjoy the fast paced fun of the Slide Fire 10/22. With a little practice, the shooter will be capable of delivering accurate single shots, bursts, or even full magazine dumps on demand using the SSAR-22.
The SSAR-22 employs a simple stock locking mechanism that allows shooters to select between their preferred firing methods easily and quickly. In the extended or “Open” position, the rifle’s receiver is allowed to freely slide rearward during the recoil impulse into the stock, thereby allowing the gun to be bump fired. The stock may also be locked into a collapsed, or “Closed,” position into which the buffer tube attached to the chassis is held in place within the buttstock and unable to move, thereby facilitating semi-auto function.
The SSAR-22 is designed to be compatible with the Ruger 10/22 and clones. The sear and disconnector are made of A2 hardened tool steel with tolerances of +/- .0002″, complete with custom tuned springs. The trigger is black anodized, equipped with an over travel adjustment screw and is reset internally to eliminate any dragging or inconsistencies caused by a conventional trigger plunger. An automatic bolt release and an extended magazine release are also included. Trigger pull is pre-set to 2 to 2-1/2 lbs. Due to the oversized safety used, it may be necessary for some stocks to be modified slightly to accommodate this part.

I recently became of a company called Tandemkross that specializes in aftermarket parts for the Ruger 10/22, Ruger 22/45, Ruger Mark II Ruger Mark III and Keltec PMR Pistols. Tandemkross offers some pretty neat products. The first such product to catch my eye is the Ruger 10/22 Mag Doubler. The Ruger 10/22 Magazine Doubler connects two 10 round magazines together at the base. It is the cleanest implementation of the concept I have seen to date.
